Default SLP loudmouth 2

Right now i have a SLP dual duals catback system but i want a louder sound. After hearing sounds on ls1sounds.com i decided that i like the SLP loudmouth the best but was too loud so i am getting the SLP loudmouth 2. My question is will i have any problems taking my current muffler off and putting in the loudmouth 2? The size diff. sems pretty big between the two. Also, will i only need to buy 1 or will I need 2? I noticed several online places having them for sale but are sold in pairs.

totally different exhausts, you can't replace the Dual/Dual muffler with a LM2 bullet without a lot of fab work. You'll need to swap the entire catback.

that's odd, you would think bullet mufflers would be noticeable louder than a dual/dual muffler which I always hear is a very quiet yet high flowing muffler.

If the car with the dual/dual has headers & no cats and the LM2 car is bone stock, then that's remotely possible.....otherwise not a chance. Here's what a bone stock car with slp dual/dual sounds like:

Sounds like a gust of wind, lol.....no LM2 is that quiet.

Nope, the mufflers reside in different locations. The LM2 muffler goes under the rear seats before the exhaust goes over the axle, then there's a small Y junction that splits into the tailpipes.

well that sucks. Do you guys have any suggestions on a muffler? Like i said I like the tone of the Loudmouth but just not as loud. I don't want to have to spend a lot of money by replacing the whole catback just to get a louder sound. I am looking for something that has a nice idle and low rpm sound as well not just WOT.

Might be worth looking at an electric cutout, although if you sold your current exhaust and bought a LM2 it probably wouldn't work out any more expensive.

As for replacing the current muffler, well you'll need to look at something of similar dimensions and style to make it easy. I actually have no ideal what the Dual/Dual looks like though.

But it will still require some form of fab work regardless.

hmmm.. How is the idle on the LM2 as compared to the D/D? Any insight would be great.

well thats weird, to me. My example. I orginally ran a Dynomax bullet muffler of my Lts and Ory. Loud as ****. Then put on a full length Magnaflow catback and that turned things down a big notch. And since the magnaflow is louder than a Dual/dual, I just don't understand this scenerio we got goin on right now haha.

Thats true. I switched over to the SLP LM2 and its not loud enough for me. I used to have the LM1 on a mustang a few years back and loved it. I was like "well i will be doing longtubes and ory so I dont want it as loud as the LM1." Personally, its not loud enough for me or raw enough. I loved the LM1s. These are much smoother and really only loud at WOT. I need longtubes quick!

Well since I have the LM2 i'll go ahead and give my input. I don't have my lt's or cam installed yet so with just my LM2 it is a "little" bit louder than stock but not really really loud. It sounds good at idle, rev, and wot. I know it will be louder with my future mods but by how much I don't know. I hear people on here bash the LM all the time but I always forget that they are talked about the LM1 cause the LM2 sounds really good to me so far. But as far as your question you will need to replace the whole system because the bullit muffler is by the back seats.

If that's not loud enough for you are your hobbies going to include near by jet take offs and firing large caliber weapons with a sethascope ?

Also consider whether you plan to add headers and or high flow cats - these will make the car louder and then your dual dual might be what you need.
