Default long tubes & ory installed, now exhaust pops

I installed my long tubes and off road y yesterday and ever since then the car isn't running well. It' lost a bunch of power down low. I was driving the car home after installation in 6th gear and the exhaust continued to pop at random, and also when I would upshift to speed up or pass someone. At the same time the SES light was flashing the whole time. Will o2 sims fix the problem?

the popping is normal for ORY cars, but check all your plugs that theya rent cracked and make sure all the plugs and boots are on tight, should be 2 clicks. you either need a tune or 02 sims to take care of the ses light

Sounds like your computer is detecting a misfire.Go to autozone and have it checked.

02 sims wont fix a flashing light that means your misfiring or something that could cause damage later down the road

Update: I re-checked all the plugs and wires except for the rear passenger side. The others were the only I could access from up top in my apartment parking lot. The misc. popping has stopped now, but there's still a tad bit of hesitation. Also the SES light flashes occasionally now instead of the whole time like it was the first time. I didn't get a chance to make it to AutoZone yesterday, so hopefully today.

Slight popping is usual, means you have a rich condition. Should ease up a bit with time.

Good time to get a tune. That'll fix your soggy bottom end. It's worth it. Not only to removed the MIL codes, but also to correct your timing and air/fuel ratio.

You should definetely check that last plugwire. The same thing happened to me after I installed my headers. I didn't get that last passenger way back on good enough. If the light is blinking your missfiring. If you have cats that raw fuel will tear it up quick too. As for the power loss down low. Its normal... You just need to get your timing advanced and the airfuel cleaned back up. After that you'll have all your tourque back and then some!!

Having the same problem with my exhaust after LT and ORY install. Took it to auto zone and the codes were EGR and MAF, they didn't say anything about a misfire, but my exhaust pops and it's a little jumpy in drive (idle @500 RPM).

Another happy LS1Techer! Without this site there's so much I'd had to go at in the dark with trial and error.

Glad to see you got it figured out

Like others said, a blinking ses light is for a misfire. You should replace the plugs if you are having a misfire and the wires are not burnt any where. A crack can be very fine and you cannot see it, but it will definately mess with your performance.
