Default what thermastat is everyone running

I have a 99 6spd vette and am going to a cooler thermastat and wanted to know what everyone is running. and are you having any adverse effects from it. I thank you for the advice and I was going to run the 160 degree from hypertech.

I run a stock thermostat but have my pcm tune set up so my fans kick on earlier so I have no need for a lower thermo

I use a Hypertech 180 and have my fans are controlled by a standalone SPAL controller and come on around 195-200, but it runs around 180.

Stock here as well, I did have a 160 on my last camaro and didn't see much of a difference at all, except that it wasn't as warm in the winter, not sure if the Thermo effected that or if it was just the car. But I wouldn't do a thermo unless I had money and time to burn or actually had a cooling problem.

160 here when the car was a bolt on car it seemes to run better cooler and also noticed more oil preassure due to the engine staying cooler too.

160 with fans programmed by hp tuners, big difference from stock thermostat, on the dyno, the difference between 195* and 175*F was 9rwhp!! Coolant temp makes a big difference.

That's kind of surprising, maybe I was wrong and a thermo would be worth it, suppose it's cheap enough to buy and easy enough to install.

Would recommend to the poster doing anything that requires a tune with the thermo so you can have it all tuned at once and save some $$$ since it looks like you'll see the most power out of it with a tune.

Cooler engine temps can cause premature ring wear and do not necessarily mean more hp. Most engines actually perform better hotter (to an extent). You have a polymer intake and pretty much a striaght shot for airflow so not much heat is absorbed by incoming air reguardless of reasonable engine temp. I would recommend a stock T-stat and fan-setting.
