Default best "quiter" cat back

My exhaust set up is in my sig...it sounds fine at idle but it has way to much rasp and it also pretty loud. Im actually looking be quieter cause I can always do a cut out for when I want to be louder. I leave for work pretty early and I hate coming home late trying to be quite so Im looking for a good 3" catback that flows well, isnt very raspy and still has a good sound. Any ideas...???

Another vote for Hooker, my 570 Rwhp SS gained 1 Rwhp and Lost 4 Rwtq with the 3" cut out wide open over the closed Hooker cat back. It also sounded great with zero rasp.

Flowmaster sounds great and definitely not too loud, but doesn't flow good. Magnaflow sounds good, I don't think it's too loud, and it's fairly cheap, but ugly tips. The SLP 2OTL and Dual/Dual sound good and flow really good, especially for being quieter, but they don't make them anymore.

Ya know I have TD's, with bullets dumped...and that thing is loud....I am looking to throw on a couple of High flow cats for Dynatech(I think, check summit racing), and then I am going with a couple of Stainless works mufflers.

I know you dont have TD's, but I believe if you take out that bullet muffler and replace it with something else that will save you some money in the long run.....

Good luck

lots of hooker love 'round here. I've been reading and researched that magnaflow has the best flowing exhaust for the ls1. Its also, when I was listening for feedback that its among the quietest at idle.

I'm not expert, and don't have lt's, but I really like the sounds of my magnaflow. I wouldn't rule it out, but thats just my .02

trust me, you make a good point but my cat back is 2 1/2 while the front is 3". Dont ask me why...I bought it that way. I would just swap out the loudmouth but I think Im bottle knecking the exhaust some...I could be wrong though. Any input on that guys?

No, I have Borla.

I had Hooker on my old car and it sounded great.

I would have Hooker now, but when I bought the car it came with Borla and I was too cheap to change it out.

I have the Hooker full system (LTs & ORYP, Catback) on my 2001 Camaro SS. At idle, it sounds just like stock, while cruising it has a nice mellow tone, if you get on it everyone will turn and be looking at you as you fly by. At least that is what happens why I do that. It is bar none the best for the price. Plus no rasp!
