If you buy the line kit from a sponsor, it comes with the plugs. That's what I did, got it from ws6store.com Good luck on the install, wouldn't hurt to get some new gaskets while you're in there. Clothespins to hold up the back bolts under the cowl too!

I used tape to hold the rear bolts up... I suppose clothes pins would be easier to remove...

You don't HAVE to do the coolant bypass, but I suppose it won't hurt. I had to grind parts off of the bottom of mine.

I just did mine two days ago. I left the original coolant lines as is and ground off the ridges on the bottom of the intake with my dremel tool. It looks good (not like anyone is ever gonna see it) but more importantly it keeps the coolant flowing to the back cylinders. Something about plugging them off just didn't sit weel with me. Hope this helps out.

Guys I too am doing the ls6 intake swap on my 99 z28, i bought the kit from ebay with the following gm part #'s
pipe 12602544 thats the pipe with the hose and it has black rubber seals on the ends of the pipe down in the plug/around where the coolant would flow.
also the 2 plugs for the rear 12602540 which both have that same black rubber seal as the front pipe. Are these the coolant seals that some vendors say I need to buy ?

Also I went to the local gm dealer today to see about the seals and they said there were 2 different versions
12551933 which was a seal that had a metal carrier
or
12570677 which was the seal only, they didnt have either in stock though so I could see if it was just the black seal thats already on the kit I bought or if its something that I need to buy, also if I need to buy it which version do I need ? Any help would be great.

Go ahead and order an oil pressure sending unit too. Save a trip to the parts store.

I just got an intake last night off ebay. I think I would just do the dremeling to the ribs on the bottom and call it a day.

If you're careful, you won't break the oil pressure sending unit. You have to twist the intake counter clockwise the get the brake booster line out of the way.

The oil unit sits between the intake and the brake booster vaccum line. Fold the line up and out of the way then twist the whole intake out of the way of the oil unit.

I did mine abotu a month ago and did have any problems. -Except that damn AIR system getting in the way...

Clearcoated my intake also..

What makes it funny is that I still broke mine and I knew about it. I deleted the air system though. Yeah just go ahead and order the oil pressure sending unit.

In reguards to holding up the back bolts; I simply wrapped a rubber band or two around them and they stayed right up. Easy to get on and off.
