Default Fernco Mod: Cracked Lid or Not

Alright guys. I've heard a lot of two sided discussion on this mod. One being it works fine and the other being it isn't flexible enough and eventually cracks the lid. I thought it'd be nice to have a poll seeing who has used this product and see what kind of luck the majority of people have with this mod.

Vote and say how long you've had the fernco on and what luck you've had with this mod. And also could you list what type of lid you have. All information will be greatly appreciated by me and I'm sure many others looking into doing this mod.

I think it depends on the lid. SLP's are made out of different plastic and mine has been fine going on 3 years. My girlfriend has a MTI clear lid which is brittle. Started to crack a little so back to stock for her.

Got SLP lid? You'll be fine.

I have an SLP lid and have had 3 different air bellows on it and the lid is still in 100% perfect shape. I have ran a stock setup, a fernco type bellow with my N2O nozzle in it, and my current MAFLess air bellow.

I have been using one for quite a while and no cracked lid here. I also have the slp lid though which seems to be a little more forgiving than some of the other lids I have seen.

I had it for over a year with a clear lid no cracks. It did however crack when replacing the filter, not related to the fernco though. I had too much gasket material stuffed in there to try and seal it(since the back is not sealed at all as is), and it cracked one of the tabes upon instalation.

I dont see how people crack them with the "fernco" mod if the bellow doesnt actually touch the lid? Anyways about 2yrs with my TSP clear lid and fernco mod and no problems.

the lid gets cracked because the fernco is much stiffer.when the motor torques over it pull on the fernco which in turn yanks on the lid

I have a fernco but I'm shopping for better looking one out there. Silicone coupler comes to mind... hmmm.
