Exhaust leak driving me insane
I got my Pacesetter LT's and TSP ORY on a few weeks ago. It sounded fine until a few days ago when I started to notice some exhaust noise coming from directly underneath me. I've got band clamps holding the Y pipe to the header collectors, band clamp on the Y merge to the catback, and those U clamps that came with my Y pipe holding the Y pipe pieces together. It seems like the only places that it's leaking is where I'm using the U clamps, and where the Y meets the catback. I've tightened the band clamps as far as they'll go, and I've also tightened the U clamps up, but they're still leaking. Would that exhaust tape that they sell work...or is that taking too much of a "band aid" approach to this? I've even tried repositioning the Y pipe a little bit with no luck. What's the best way to go about getting rid of these annoying leaks?

try some aluminum foil inside the band clamps. Ditch the U clamps. They're natorious for leaking, crimping the pipes, and being the lowest point on the exhaust.
I like the aluminum foil method the best. Welding is fine, but it makes adjustment impossible for the non-welding do-it-yourselfer

Replaced all the U clamps with stainless band clamps, repositioned the catback a little better, and ran a little of that exhaust tape around where the the clamps meet the pipes. No leaking yet, sounds like the problems solved, for now at least. I've spent about 100 bucks on band clamps this month, wow
