Default Damn this is a hard decision...

I'm trying to decide between Borla and GMMG, but now i'm starting to think maybe I should get something else for the price? I definately don't want to spend like 900$ and be unsatisfied.

What i'm looking for is something that is noticeably louder than my stock exhaust(which is slp dual dual), and has a mean sound at lower rpms, like 2000-3000 rpm. I've heard borla before on my friend's ws6, but it seemed to have too much rasp at times, but i think he may of had an exhaust leak.

Any suggestions? I've looked through all of LS1sounds.com and I can't seem to find the right combo that I like on there, because most of them are with headers/ORY. or a cam.

I have the GMMG, I think it sounds best with cats. Theres a sound clip of my GMMG with the catted y pipe, and pacesetters in my sig.

I think raspiness really comes about with ORY, you'd probably be fine with either. Another really good sounding, high quality system is the B&B. Any of these should be fine if you don't plan on doing headers and ORY. If you DO plan on doing more exhaust work in the future, you could do worse than stick with the dual-dual, which is a great-flowing system, and arguably the best sounding with headers and ORY.

I do plan on headers/ORY in the future which is why i'm worried about what I choose. But in the meantime I want a noticeable exhaust that sounds mean.

with borla you are paying + or - 800 or so for a damn straight pipe and a muffler that you won't ever use ... so WTF,. LOL.

GMMG... its about the durn best

you could run just a bullet muffler and then go out
i don't have to worry about this as my turbo is my muffler sorry had to say it lol.

Dude, why don't you just put a cut-out on it? Then it'll be loud when you want it to be, and you'll have the perfect LT/ORY setup when you go that way. Dual-dual is pretty much the only cat-back that isn't raspy with ORY.

Cut-out is too loud, I want something that is smooth...i'm starting to think GMMG is the way to go...especially after researching some more sound clips of it. But I have considered adding a cut-out as well for the drag-strip etc..

Go with the GMMG and you won't look back - unless you go with the ORY someday. Keep your dual/dual around in case you do that. I'd skip the expensive oval tips though.

If you plan to do any longtubes or go internal in the future, I'd stay with your SLP D/D. Trust me, you'll be grateful you did.

Well I plan on keeping the dual/dual in storage in case I ever go that route. Right now i'm thinking just a bolt-on car, but when I get sick of that I know i'll throw a cam in there.

Borla! I have some friends with GMMG, and it does sound nice.. but it just doesn't have the Borla sound. Plus with Borla, it can be loud and nice, or loud as all sin if you want it to be.. good if you have problems with teh fuzz.
