Cool taking off the stock exhaust.

I recently got an '02 WS6 and have a Borla exhaust system to install. I'm sure there's a lot of you out there who've put on custom systems, and I'm curious as to how hard it is to take off the stock exhaust system? There's no cutting or anything like that involved is there? Thanks for your help.

No cutting at all...if you want to drop the axle. Otherwise, it's minimum 1 cut, possibly 2, depending on where you cut. I cut once before it went over the axle and once right before it went into the muffler.

I took mine off without cutting. It's not that bad but then again if I was going to do it again I would have cut it off and saved at least 1-2 hours.

i hate messing with exhaust, its one of the most frustrating things to do if u have only jackstands.. by far the EASIEST exhaust system to put on is TSP TDs (from experience), but im sure some are just as easy! just take ur time! if you get frustrated take a break, cuss a lot, use a mallet? its FUN

I found putting on and adjusting my Dual-Dual was very easy with just jack stands.

man im kinda lost as to why youd want to drop the rear out of the car instead of just making two cuts?

I cut it to get it out, but it was pretty simple. Un-bolt the factory cat-back, cut once by the axle, pull it out. bolt on the new one.

Some of us like doing things the challenging way. And really, how tough is it to drop the axle? Mine will be coming out soon to put my GMMG on if necessary. I for one prefer that no cuts be made just for the fact that if I ever put the Dual-Dual back on it doesn't need to be welded. Its hard to find a shop around here that doesn't do a hack job on stuff like that.
