Question Cut Off My Muffler?

Hey Guys

Do I really need my muffler? my 99 z28 is all stock and there is no money for headers and exhaust so I thought I could make a few incisions down there for better sound, flow ect... Is this recommended? Thanks Guys!

Well the stock muffler does not flow half bad and i started mine while i had the muffler off and i hated the sound. I would just leave it and do it right.

Cut the muffler off and go to a PepBoys type store and buy a straight pipe to fit where the muffler was and weld/clamp the straight pipe in. Shouldn't be more than 20-30 bucks ..

Good Luck

It will sound like Dog crap! I cut mine off one day and had the Hooker replacement muffler for it, and I could not wait to get it on. Just stock exhaust with cats needs a muffler of some sort. If you want it to sound like an old truck with glasspacks go ahead.

You car will sound like a tractor. If that is the sound that you are looking for, then your plan sounds fine.
