Flowmaster + Loudmouth= Saweet!!!
So I had loudmouth on my TA and decided that it was too loud with the Longtubes, ORY, and cam. I really didn't wanna have to buy a new catback so instead I had my local shop install a Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 Series in place of the resonator. I didn't think I would be 1/2 as impressed with the sound as it turned out. I will try and post up a video.

the inlet and outlet are both on the left side of the muffler so they angled it upward into a cavity underneath the car. You can't hardly even tell that it is a muffler. Pretty neat setup. I am not too worried about power as I am getting ready to purchase a TT setup . As far as the sound goes I am a pretty big fan of it. I just really wanted it to be alot quieter than the loudmouth. I could not stand the way it sounded. It sounded like a damn boat or something.

I really don't understand why everybody trashes them either. My brother had a 94 TA with over 400 to the wheels and he had flowmaster catback. I never had any complaints on how well it ran and it sounded great with his headers and ORY. Had his around 2000 and raped a lot of LS1's lol. And mustang guys seem to like them a lot too and I've never heard them complain about the flowmaster muffler.

flowmaster is underrated. the 80 series muffler doesn't flow too well. that's because they had to make a special muffler to fit these damn cars. if we had a NORMAL car, we'd be okay, but because of the limited room we have, it was very hard to flowmaster to design a muffler for us, so we got shafted with flow.
the standard 40 series mufflers flow pretty decent. the super 40's are quite nice, and they're one of the best sounding mufflers out there for sure. nothing beats flowmaster sound, c'mon guys
just because they have one not so good muffler out there (80 series) doesn't mean they're all bad. it's not going to flow like the resonator, that's for sure, so expect something like a 10 hp gain with an open cutout, but every catback has a loss. even GMMG typically sees a ~6 horsepower gain from an open cutout and they don't even run a real muffler. what more can you guys ask for? c'mon...
for any of you guys screaming about performance that flowmaster takes away, ask yourself this: "why are you running a y-pipe setup?" no one running a y-pipe setup should complain about flowmaster robbing power because the entire y-pipe setup itself is robbing power. if you care about performance, go true duals. if not, get the catback you like and weld in a cutout for "emergency power."

none the less the flowmaster muffler works extremely well where it was installed. it gives it a different sound having the muffler before the axle and it sounds deep as hell. Two thumbs way up!

its so weird this topic is being discussed. i was just thinking the other day "what would a regular 40 series flowmaster sound like on our cars?" i didnt think that there would be enough room for it though, apparently there is. sweet!
