How long have your motor mounts last??
I have a 99' SS that have replaced the motor mounts on before and now I believe they are going bad again. Have you guys with energy suspension or polyurethane had to replace your mounts again? Or should I just go solids and live with the added vibrations that they cause?

Yea same way with mine, first time I replaced them the motor was gravity mounted for a while the clamshell just fell out when I unbolted them. It is pretty clean under the car no oil leaks or anything, I think the mounts just crapped out because of the movement of the engine. The motor isn't stock though, its a 408 lq9 with a pretty good size cam I guess the poly might be able to with stand more then 30k miles of abuse.

Take the alt out it isnt too hard and unbolt the a/c compressor and move it out of the way. Then you can get to the bolts and get them out once you put a jack under the oil pan with a piece of wood between. The rest is pretty self explanatory. Bolting them back up to the motor can be a pain in the *** make sure you get the holes lined up just right when you try to bolt them back up.

No problems with the solid mounts and the knock sensors?

I decided to replace mine when I was doing headers/clutch. The stock ones had 96k on them and they were completely trashed.
Installing them was an experience in itself. Now that I know what I'm doing I could easily get it done in half the time, but I would hate to have to do it again.
Here's a couple of tips:
- Do one side at a time
- Start with the passenger side as there's not a lot of room to hammer the bolt home if need be
- If you're having trouble lining up the holes, grind the tip of the bolt down to a point and hammer the **** out of it.
