need help with throttle body...
Ok I just put some heads on the car and now my throttle cable wont work right. it seems like it doesnt have enough slack in the cord. when I connect it all up the car will idle at 1K instead of the normal 550rpm.

I know mine had too much slack after doing my fuel rails. (I yanked it out of the way). But, the cable between the TB and you cruise box, there should be a piece in teh middle of it. You should notice what it looks like as it is the only "non-round cable looking" think there.. Just pop it off and see if you can get some slack back in it, then push it back on to keep the right tention.. I stumbled on it and was like WTF? But its a cable adjuster. I think 99 on up has this option.

It has some threads on the cable and on the pop in piece. Pop that piece off get your slack right, then pop that piece back on and it should hold the cable to the right tention.. If all possible, double check your TB voltage just to make sure you are are WOT. If I remember correctly, WOT should be 4.5/4.6 volts.

YOUR CAR IDLES AT WHAT ?? 550 RPM !! Sounds a little low to me, especially with heads (and cam - I'm assuming, no one does heads without a cam) -- I thought at normal operating temp the car is around 700 -800 stock .. At least mine is.
As for the cable, if there are no adjustments, I've seen guys on here that have had to replace the cable with a longer one .. Did this only happen after your heads or do you have a throttle body spacer to. if you have a spacer - get rid of it - the spacers are only good for carbuerated cars because it allows more time for the air/fuel to mix before entering the combustion chamber, they do nothing for our fuel injected engines
