Default Cause of this?

this only happens in 1st gear and started happenng the day in had my LT's and ORY installed..

Going into 1st gear under medium throttle i feel/hear a tapping noise from underneath the car. Now, I know the biggest prob with LT/ORY installs are Y pipe clearance, but i checked and i have over an inch of clearance from the floorboard.

Some have suggested worn tranny mounts...

any ideas?

Worn engine mounts letting the engine torque over too far?

common problem with headers and y-pipe set-ups. The engine torques and twists, causing the driver side pipe to hit the floor board. There is a clamp that helps this.

http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...&vid=3&pcid=54 look around 3/4 of thw way down. It is made by mufflex.

i don't know about other systems, but my Loud Mouths muffler sits awfully close to the rear u-joint. any tweaks to the exhaust and the two interfere.

If its occuring anywhere else in the powerband i either cant feel it or hear it cause the exhaust is so loud. But it's very evident during a medium throttle into 1st..

I ask this because, you know that with long tubes, you will have alot of valvetrain noise (I.E. valve tick, clatter, chirping) and most times it sounds like it comes from under the car.
