Default K&N Cold air intakeVs SLP intake kit

I have read around for a while what kinda of cold air intake to put onto my Z28 the K&N website and it claims 15 something to the wheels where the SLP clains up to 25 hp so if anyone could chime in it would be great the SLP is a kit that comes with alot the smooth below and lip but it looks like it channels the air from low so if I hit a puddle it looks like it could suck up water

Both would be good choices, and an intake will not get you 25 hp to the wheels. I'd go for the cheaper one which is probably k&n,just my opinion.

SLP kit is about 40-50 bucks cheaper.

I have thought the same about the two, and plan to just go with a Flopac because of the price difference.

no dont buy the flow crap pack.

the slp lid is the only worthwhile thing in that. those bellows are APPEARANCE nothing more. the "CAI" doesnt go to the bottom of the car and is a **** poor design. the K&N CAI offers no gain over a lid. this has been gone voer thousands of tiems and each and every time we always come up with the same answer: stick with a lid and a real cai kit like the BGRa, SSRA, or the FTRA. youre throwing money out the door with those other things.

i have the flow pack, but a lid will do just fine. there are no real big gains getting the "ram air" kits to go with it.

I have a 98 ws6 clone. The hood is functional, and i have a ws6 air box, with a k&n, with an SLP lid, would i benefit at all going with the ssra, ftra, or bgra or is my setup good enough? sorry for the hijack, but search isn't working tonight. Thanks, Chris

the BGRA kit is no longer amde, but you can make one yourself. here is the bst and biggest "ram air" kit debate that I know of. if you dont wanna read through it heres the final say.

** Oh and also ther FTRA and SSRA creator had a full out battle in the thread, the SSRA was argused to be the better of the 2...

SSRA: best "ram air" kit you can still buy and best kit for non WS6 cars
BGRA or home amde BGRA:Best "Ram air" kit hands down but its for WS6 cars only.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/598828-bg-ram-air-vs-ssra.html

Just remember, do research before you buy this stuff! and keep in mind there is NOT a true "ram air". ram air is a pressurised effect FORCING air into your motor, this can only be done with very high monuted scoops like the drag cars and forced induction (turbo superchargers)

If someone ever got their crap together and mde a BGRA kit again they would make a killing

I got the volant intake, did the !fra mod and also got the SSRA. Im happy with them, but not sure if Id notice anything to be unhappy about hehe
