Ive gone thru about 10 O2's and i dont know what is making them go out.

I have an Open cutout with ORY and no cats.

What could be making them go out every 3-4 weeks?

I recall reading a post warning that WD40 or some type of silicone spray, sprayed near the sensors, could cause them to fail. Also mentioned was a certain gasket sealer, used in header install, that supposedly caused failure. Just my cloudy recollection though.

couldn't you just have them deleted using Edit and not worry about it anymore?

Agreed you must have some sort of contamination issue going on ...leaded gas, certain octane boosters silicone, silcates & bunch of other chemicals that can build up a coating on the porceln tip of the o2, thus degrading it.

This would be true if its the rears, but if its the front ones this is bad if it keeps going out. i heard once before that coolent was leaking on it and crapping it out, really hope its not that. are you using anything that isnt normal around the engine?

make sure they arent having rubbing issues or header melting issues. I have Hooker headers and if Im not careful the left sensor will wear through the wire and short out on the shielding.

the front 02 on the right side is the one that seems to be going out even more then the left.

Im not using leaded gas or octane boosters.
im not losing coolent
ill have to make sure there not rubbing or anything.

You did'nt use any funky silicone on the motor anywhere? No leaded racing gas? are these delco O2's crappin out?

I have to second the coolant issue. If it is the driverside more than the other check the head gasket on that side first. Do a compression test and let us know what you find. Also i have the same heat problem i checked under the car and the drivers side was only the sensor and the wire couldnt be found.

I know if you used any kind of RTV silicone it will mess the sensors up, along with any kind of cantaminant in the fuel system. Whatever the problem, good luck with it.

its the passenger side thats been having the more problems.
I had a compression test done a week ago because of all the oil im burning and everything was fine.

hope i can figure this out soon

Put a catch can on the pcv hose to cut down on the oil going into the combustion chamber. Are you using some extensions with long tubes. I know that I had a problem with the connection on one of my extensions that was turning the O2 on and off randomly, and setting a code. Just a couple of things to try out.

i have the catch can already and there isnt any oil in it
and im losing alot of oil also
