Would I be better going with the larger primary for a stroker?

While you don't necessarily need the larger headers, they would benefit you. I'm going to run my hookers for a while once my 427 is done....the step up to some kooks 1 7/8.

I would run 1.875" headers with strokers.

As I recall the SBC rule of thumb is minimum 1-7/8" primaries for anything making ~500 fwhp, so I'd have to agree that the 1-7/8's would be the way to go.

Are you more concerned with top end power or low/midrange torque? What's your engine currently built for? Go with the larger primaries for more hp or smaller ones for tq.

i agree... with my mild H/C went with TTS longtubes....

cant see the bigger primaries helping my application any more

besides, the car spends most of the time in the midrange rpms... so i want the torque and dont really care for the peak hp... rather see more gains throughout the powerband.

generally speaking, for a stroker... i'd go with the bigger LTs

Well with my setup there is no lack of low/midange torque. I'm looking for more top end so I think I'll go with the 1 7/8".

all depends on the hp we are talking about. It is possible for the need of 2" or larger just depends on hp and budget really.
