I nned to know this also asap.
I have QTP's with their y-pipe and my new torque arm will not fit at all with the y.
I have heard that Hookers and the TSP y will fit i just need to know for sure.
Thanks

There was a post on here about a month ago about someone who trimmed and modified a Kook's Y-pipe and got it to fit pretty good. You loose the QTP (Flowmaster) merge collector but you gotta do what you gotta do. I kept mine when I changed my QTP standard collectors to their HVMCs and cut both cats' off, left the passengers side in the same place, and hung the drivers side cat' right off the collector and added a 3" ID bend behind the cat' and fit it to the joint where I cut the original QTP cat' off at. Now, it's a full 3" Y-pipe with no flat spots and I didn't loose much more ground clearance than any other Y-pipe. In fact, I was able to get the lowest part of the Y-pipe to be nearly equal clearance to the ground as the lowest part of the collector without banging. The only thing I don't like about the Y-pipe now is it's not stainless

I think the QTP Y is a decent fit, but you have to take your time due to all the sections to get it right to tuck up nice. Most of the time if you take to to an exahust shop to have it installed they don't take their time to check for ground clearence and it will look like crap.

I installed and adjusted it several times. There is just no way it will fit with the UNI torque arm i have.

riiiiight. where did you get that from?

QTP y-pipe has ground clearance issues. kooks y-pipe is a junk design because one side just dumps into the other, no merge at all.

if you want a good y-pipe, go custom. that's what i'm gonna do buy a flowmaster merge and have a shop fab one up for you. that'll give you the best performance, best ground clearance, least rasp...it's what i'm gonna do

I'm also interested in what will fit on QTP's other than their y-pipe, I want to buy a pair since the EGR tube on my pacesetters decided to snap off at the weld but am not willing to part ways with my TSP duals.

I dont want to sound like a cheap *** but even on my salary $1000+ for fricken headers is just bunk IMO, Qtp's merge looks to nice to pass up. If TSP's y-pipe would work I'd be all over them

the qtp y only has issues if you don't position the pipes correctly. It can be tucked up rather nicely. It is a great flowing setup, I would get it, unless your car is lowered then I'd probably get a custom y made.

it is not easy to get a qtp y-pipe, they have none in stock (i live close to qtp so i went to their actual shop, which might i also take the time to say that barry is a great guy and helped me with some issues i had). i have a used one that is cut at the collector that i was gonna fab up but i decided to just go custom cause i wanted cats anyway. i'd sell that used cut one if anyone wants it

I have a Mufflex Y. Just like the QTP off road Y pipe. It fit ok but I hit something really big on the road and it caught a part of the Y pipe and bent it up. I wanted something that could tuck up a bit higher anyway so I went with a custom Y. I still have the Mufflex sitting here and it just needs one section of pipe to be complete. Mufflex said they would sell me the peice I need if I just let them know exactly which it was.
