Default Aftermarket MAF or Stock MAF Ported?

Hey guys, What's better, an aftermarket MAF(if so, which?) or Stock MAF ported with screen out, etc.? Have you ever heard of using an LS6 MAF on an LS1? Thanks.

85mm MAF, stock GM part, any black plastic 85mm will work fine. Don't descreen it, don't port it, and make sure you have someone put the truck MAF tables in your tune. It flows slightly better and the truck tables for it are more accurate than our stock F-body tables.

I would do neither. Save the money and buy a set of headers. I don't think the gains are worth the money in an aftermarket MAF. Keep the screen in your stocker and your car will be much happier. Port and polish your TB instead and get even more gains.

Don't touch your stock MAF. Don't pass go, don't collect $200. It's fine the way it is, unported and screens in place.

Yes you can have your car tuned to keep it from going lean.

Remove the resistors SLP puts in and use the truck tables.
