Default Can i dump my pcv system for cone filter?!? please help

yesterday when i was installing the pcv valve and hoses on my motor i was wondering,

if i put breather cones on the valve covers,

like this

can i than take all the hose system of the motor and throw it away?

is it enough to install those cone filters and block off the output for it in the TB and blow it to the admospere?

this is how my motor looks rigth now, i would realy want a cleaner look

I got rid of everything on my engine, i put a breather on the passenger side valve cover and connected the rear of both valve covers with a hose. I have a breather that will work on the rear driver's side but i didnt like the look of it since my '68 doesn't have a cowl that covers it up so i just connected bother valve covers. Then i plugged all the other lil ports.

Yes, you can do this. Many have. A few pros and cons on doing it.

It will keep any blow by from getting oil into the Intake via the PCV system.

If you have blow by or a lot of positive pressure from high RPM run, you might start to get a lot of oil build up on the Breathers (not always a bad thing, but can start to drip)

Having positive pressure and no PCV system in High RPM run... Rings do seal a bit better with Neg pressure, you can try using a vacumn pump and a catch can, there is a Sticky in one of the forum on using your old AIR Pump and a Racetronix wiring system. May or may not need it.

also i would like to hear the negatives about this set up along with the posetive,

does the engine use the air that the pcv system sends to the TB?
