Default epoxied TB question

Has anyone ever consider or even tried tacking a small cut to fit piece of sheet metal to fill the divit in the TB instead of putting epoxy in there? I dont imagine it would be to hard if you can decently weld aluminum and have access to a grinder, plus it wouldnt break off and get into the motor.

I'd choose that over putting epoxy on my TB. I still don't understand why people full that in though, it's not worth it IMO. But regarding your question, if you can weld aluminum well and make it look nice and clean then i guess it'd be alright.

welding it would actually be the easy part, tacking it in there. grinding it smooth would be harder I would think

What? and then what? drill a hole in it? Also, I've never heard of epoxy/JB weld breaking off a TB and getting into the motor. That just sounds ridiculous to me.

what good is the epoxy anyways? the only thing that really helps is taking the ridge off, bump stop, and hollowing it out a little. you wont gain much if anything from any of the other mods.

it may help a little with air velocity. It's worth $3.89 if you ask me.

I had mine epoxied. Ive seen1 case where someones broke off, but a clean surface is the key to making it stick.
