Venturi Vs Standard Merg collecters
I have searched about this but had no joy so I have ask the question that if a set of headers has venturi collecters like QTPs although they call them HVMCs will they make more power on a bolt on car over lets say a set of kooks with regular colecters with just a turbulance spike??

The only way you'd be able to tell is if you had both sets of headers on the same car with identical exhaust configurations after them, both being tuned for maximum power and dyno tested under similar conditions. In other words, it ain't gonna happen unless someone has some money to blow.
Until then, it is pure conjecture. There are proponents of both types of headers, but little proof of one being better than another with repeatable results. I've certainly not been disappointed with my Kooks headers and their spikes...at least not enough where I'd be happy shelling out the money to buy a set of QTPs and having my custom exhaust partially refabricated.

I've read that HVMCs or merge collectors should have their length tuned in order to realize the full potential. I'm sure you'll find that the opinion from most people with HVMCs will be that they produce more power over the venturi spike people. From my experience, I can say I went from QTP standard collector LTs and tune to their HVMCs and gained 10+ horse with a tune. There were no other changes. HOWEVER, this was on different days with different conditions; it can't be considered a direct comparison.
IMHO, if it's good enough for NASCAR it's good enough for my car. Just know that there are many people who've had great success with all LTs and the gains will be different with each car and circumstances. You'd likely be happy with any reputable LT that you read about on this forum. Look to the sponsors for your options.

Yes I have heard about 10hp often from other LS1tech members before, but I started this thread to try and make sure of it being true or not. Were you talking rear wheel HP?
