I see porting the fast intake as an optional (if you want every last bit) mod. Like a cutout, or deleting the cats, or elec. water pump or something. It might give ya a little more hp but isn't essential. From the results I've seen, I'm not totally sold on porting it so far. Maybe I'd try it in the future as an experiment and post the results.

well im doing the PRC 2.5 5.3l liter heads and the Ms3 cam setup from TSP. I am hoping to be pushing out around 450rwhp range with my setup. Also i have no cats and 2.5in duals run out the back. Do you think it would be neccesary to get the intake and tb ported to reach that rwhp?

M6 no, A4 everything you can port, polish, machine, mill, reduce, and lighten.
Joking aside, with your setup I would prolly port the crap out of everything with either tranny cuz it's on the wilder side for stock cubes anyway. Remember, depending on tranny, lots of gear, lots of stall, or lots of both.

It all depends upon how much CFM your head is flowing. If your heads flow less than about 280CFM, you probably won't see any results worth having..if your heads flow higher than about 290CFM then you should see some decent gains. Even at that, I think the only gains you will see over a stock FAST will be strictly at the top of the power band. (At .500 and .600 lifts), where your motor can actually take advantage of the extra flow.

I'm in the process of getting the FAST onto my forged 347, it's going on unported so I'll let you know in the next week or so how things go. But with your setup and the proper gears/stall, you should be seeing well over 400, probably near the 450 range depending on the quality of your bolt-ons. But you should see those numbers with or without porting the intake. It's kinda the icing on the cake, really. If I were you, I'd stick it on there unported, and if you don't like your numbers, or you just want a few more horseys, go for the porting. Good luck man, look forward to hearing more about your setup.

You will achieve your goal of 450rwhp for sure with your setup. BUT, when you'll want more out of your LS1, all is left is porting the intake, elect. water pump and cutout.
If I were you, I'd do a big search on the port Fast 90 dyno result; I did it cause I'm buying one next summer. The port job is around 200$ with vengeance racing and it is a very CHEAP and proven BIG gain for the 200$ compare to the high price of the intake itself.https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...lt+fast+ported
You'll see a 10-15rwhp with the intake and up to 30rwhp ported!!!
Anyway, you always have the intake, so you can send it to be ported...

Mine is going on unported I just ordered a 90/90 from John at Texas speed. My tuner said that unless it was port matched with the heads it does not pay. Put it on and when you do the heads get it port matched to the heads. I think you see bigger gains with the bigger engines and not stock cubic inches. One day maybe I will take it off and prt match it but if i HIT 450RWHP it will not matter b/c I have a 150 shot to go on top of that so a 300$ port job is not worth it.

I'd say go for it if you can do it yourself. I up the bottom half on my motor and traced the ports on the manifold using an inside scribe (looks like a small fishing hook on the end of a rod). I then "port matched" the runners on the intake to match my Trickflows and removed some more material from the manifold (like the mega-hump).
It was pretty easy, you've just got to remember one thing. You can always take more off, but you can't put it back on.
