Default Anyway to lower idle w/o a tuner?

My car is idling fine, but IMO a tad high @ 1100. I'd like to lower it a little to get even more lope w/ my cam. Is this possible or do I need to see another tuner to have it lowered to say 950ish?

You need a tuner or tuning software.

Is the throttle blade hole drilled larger? and is the idle screw all the way down? Tim

there is a idle screw that you can turn down.

Did someone tune the car to have an 1100 rpm idle?? If so, find a new tuner because there's no reason to have a car idle above 900-950 even with the biggest of cams.

Agreed! I have an F13 and my idle is at 750-800 on an auto! No need for an F11 to be so high, unless the tuner couldn't get it to idle right. As mentioned, you can unscrew the idle set screw to close the throttle blade some. Be cautious when doing this, because if you close it too much the blade can stick as you try an open the throttle.

Closing that set screw shouldn't really affect anything...the PCM is looking for a commanded value, and it will do its best to get there one way or another. Closing the set screw would only make the IAC open more to get in the same air...

You need to set a lower idle in the PCM.

Thanks guys, it was tuned by a very respected shop up north. I had a scan tool hooked up to it, it says around 975 is the idle. The tach shows about 1100. So the tach doesn't read exact. Not surprised....

BUT, I'd still like to lower it a little. Where exactly is this set screw? On the TB somewhere I assume?

I'm telling you...the idle uses an adaptive algorithm. It aims for a set RPM that is programmed into the PCM. The idle air control motor will just offset whatever you do with that set screw to get to that set RPM.

This guy is right, don't waste your time with the screw. You can only temp rise your idle this way. When you loosen the screw the IAC motor will just correct it and all you will end up with is a sticky throtle. When you tighten the screw to the point where the IAC motor can not compensate it will idle higher, but you still need to have it changed in the pcm. When you rise your idle the tps is seeing a 1 or 2% throttle (no good)
