Default FAST 92mm Intake?

I just recieved my FAST 90 intake and throttle body. When I opened the box I found that the manifold says 92mm on it. Have they always been that way? I guess I never paid attention.

I'm sure I'll get an extra 10-15 horsepower out of the extra 2mm

I've been wondering the actual flow #'s of the FAST 90/90.. You should get a couple more CFM out of the +2mm..

That's cool...didn't know they were shipping yet. So are the throttle bodies gonna jump up an extra 2mm as well?

Yes, this is the new fast 92... there is a fast "Big Mouth" throttle body to match it. Check on byunspeed.com

They have them listed, but no price, last I checked.

so does the 90 version get cheaper? or are they ditching the 90 and only selling the 92? I cant imagine there is a big enough difference between them for them both to be marketable

At their current rate it will take them another 12 years to get to 100.

Ive read the offical advertisement for the intake, there are more updates then just a 2mm bigger opening and based on their claim, that is the optimal size, not to persay, sell your ported 90mm fast to buy a ported 92mm Fast. I would feel as fine as if I had a 90mm as I would with a 92....

This 92mm thing has been bugging me, so I called FAST today and asked about it.

I asked the tech if their standard 90mm throttle body would fit the 92mm intake properly. He told me it would work fine, but they have a new matching 92mm TB coming out in a few weeks.

It seemed odd to me, that they would release the intake before the TB that matches it. When I asked about that I was told the 92mm intake would not be released until early in 2008. After I told him I already had the intake, he said I was mistaken it was a 90mm.

What the heck, I just agreed with him. Obviously those numbers on top of it are wrong and they didn't screw up and send me an intake that hasn't hit the market yet.

Looks like I'll have the first FAST 92 on the road

sounds to me that somebody knows you from where you ordered it from and gave you a deal or that you just got lucky and they sent you the wrong part either way that thing is awesome, ive also been looking at the professional products 96 mm combo but its aluminum and is a little haevier but just means more porting

From thier 2008 product guide:
LSX™ 92mm
Manifold
Building upon the success of the LSX™
Manifold, FAST™ introduces the newly
designed LSX™ 92mm Manifold. This revised
design incorporates a 92mm opening optimized
for maximum performance. New features
include corrosion-free stainless steel
assembly bolts and an improved throttle body
sealing flange and o-ring gasket. Built using
a more expensive high quality polymer material,
the new LSX™ 92mm Manifold increases
horsepower over stock intake manifolds with
no loss of drivability or low rpm torque. The
special Big Mouth Throttle Body™ has been
designed for use with this manifold to deliver
bolt-on Gen III horsepower and maximize
potential of performance upgrades.
The only other thing I see listed is stainless hardware (about damn time, my bolts rusted in 2 months) new gaskets and MORE EXPENSIVE PLASTIC

That's funny. I would have asked him for his email and his name, then taken a picture of it with a sign with his name on it and sent it to him and seen how he reacted.

Gotta love it when people will disagree with you when the truth is staring them in the face.
