http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-...spagenameZWDVW

Can anyone tell me if this is the factory cme or a remake?

I don't think it's factory original, mine does not have the second
fatter "web" between the "bells" and the tips in that photo are
not in-plane but look to be at a slight angle. I think too that
mine do not have a flared steel pipe but rather straight 2-1/2"
entry. But it's been a while since I looked closely.

A FACTORY PIECE I bought one of these,,Well,Won the auction last summer to have a spare incase someone reared me.And it was the WORST replica I have ever seen!!The lips were not even at all like the SLP one's!The one side stuck out at least a half an inch past the other,Look close at the picture,One side is uneven, and the angle when welded isnt the same for the two halves to look like there pitched together at the same angle .I WAS ******* FUMMING when I receive it in the mail, And on top of that ,They charged me like $50 to ship these 2 lb piece of **** to me. I atleast got my lot back(THANK GOD)The guy said it was a miss up and I was like DUDE mix up? It looks identical to your picture on E BAY !The offset angles ,the one longer then the other!Look really close at the photo guys!Thats what your gonna get.And I got my lot back,So thats why I didnt leave a neg feed back

My original CME back in the day were independent of each other. I know this because 1 tip was always lower than the other. That link does not show an original piece. But it will still do the job.

These E-bayers have been selling this same unit for a while, I think the orginal center rib was cast in place not welded, The orginal units did not have the large brace in the back, it was added after when most of them broke the center smaller rib that connected the two sides together. Me thinks this may be a repo.

only seen 1 but the center rib on it was cast into the 2 tips and they weren't offset or set at goofy angles. they might work, but idk if i would buy them.

I ended up passing on this. The auction seems very fishy and sounds like a scam.

Seems like the seller kept bidding on his own item just to raise the price.

The picture is suspect...the angles do look off to me, but that could be a trick my eyes are playing on me.

As for the extra bracing, I ended up getting a spare set of tips from SLP back in the day towards the end of their production, and SLP was including extra bracing that was welded in behind the standard small bracing. It is 1" boxed aluminum.

Those may have been original tips that broke the original tab, and someone welded them back together with some extra bracing and didn't do a good job of aligning it. That was always my biggest fear, and why I had my new exhaust fabricated with the braced versions from SLP. My original tips sit in storage...
