Gears would help you get into your powerband quicker and help down low OR..........you can do this, start all of your races around 4000-4500rpm. If that doesn't put you in your seat when you nail it there is something wrong.

That cam is made for top end - peak HP; right?
I have a tiny cam that produces lots of low-end power and a flat curve. I'd rather have a stump puller and flat curve than a motor with all the power above 4K
I would rather keep the factory gears since I use 6th gear on the highway and it sips gas.

well i think i know what your talking about, because of my stock stall and 2:73's if i kick it down at 50 mph its slow. but if i kick down at 70 plus she goes fine. i think correct gears will solve this problem. A4 between 3:42's & 3:73's if M6 probably 4:10's (because of 6 speed) good luck

I would aslo like to take a look at the dyno graph. Also you shouldnt start your races bellow 3k, down shift to bring your rpms up before you go. If you are racing from the line you are going to have to leave above 3k also...

below 3k rpm is for city driving, below 2krpm is for crusing, anything above 3k is pretty much good for power for most low to mild cams.
My TR224 0.561 112 cam jumps to around 345-350ft/lb at 3k, gains a little more till about 4k where it spikes to about 372ft/lb and holds it till about 5300rpm, then drops linearly after that. Even up to 6500rpm, it's still in the 340ft/lb range.
I think it's all a matter of perspective for you, you THINK you don't have any down low torque because it's like 150ft/lb difference. Below 3k feels like crap, but even my dyno shows >250ft/lb@2500rpm... relative to the higher rpm it feels weak. Try this, see if you can do a 2krpm clutch dump and NOT break loose the tires. If you have no torque, it'll just bog itself. On BFG KD 315's with full 30 PSI out back and cool tires, a 2krpm clutch dump is instant wheel spin for me. Even warmed up, I'll still break it loose.

You should have thought about where you wanted your power when you choose your cam, There is no way your cam is gonna make usable power under 3k.
My stealth II pulls like a freight train from about 2500 RPM.

With a cam, long tubes, Y-Pipe, cat-back, and lid, I'm surprised that you feel there is no low-end. And even more surprised that you only have 392/382 hp/tq. Did you get it tuned (PCM)?
What about weight? You've already dropped the AIR system and heavy stock manifolds, but there's still the K-member, and front LCAs. Might not be a whole lot, but it would help.
There's always Nitrous and Forced Induction too.
