Anywhere here ever switched from a Flowmaster to a Magnaflow?....rwhp diff??
Hello all,
I am going to be putting a Magnaflow system on my 2000 SS here shortly. The current rwhp #'s are in my sig.
Right now I have the stock 3 inch OD pipe with a Blowmaster (not sure of the series but loudest one I think) and 2 1/4 inch tailpipes. The Headers are SLP w/ SLP Y, cats are deleted.
Has anyone here done this switch and made comparisons on the dyno? If not a Magnaflow, something similiar will suffice.
I just think that my setup should be making at least 370rwhp N/A even with the timing retarded for the nitrous. I am planning to install the Magnaflow and a bottle heater for the Spray, then go to the dyno and document the changes. I am hoping to see about 515rwhp or so with both. I'd hope that I could get 17rwhp out of those mods.
So, anyone here have any good results on the dyno changing from a flowmaster setup to a Magnaflow?

I don't have dyno #'s, but I made that switch and next time at the track I pulled better times than with my cutout open before. Maybe it gave me a good amount of backpressure, i'm not sure, but it sure felt much better and sounded better too.

How much will you gain??? Not enough to cover the cost of the muffler/catback and the labor to put it in. People talk about how flowmaster sounds... I get compliments all the time about how good my car sounds. I do have a bullet in the I-pipe which killed all the rasp in the system and now it sounds incredible
