Re: Anyone do the Exhaust Mod?
I am 16 and am not allowed to modify the car, a cutout cost money, and must be shipped. A pipe is $2.99 at the most, and I can weld it for free. That is why I want to do this modification. If I do this, my parents will not know, but if I get a cutout then they wil obviusly know. So I'm n a delima!!!!

Re: Anyone do the Exhaust Mod?
This is the modification that adds a Borla touch so to speak. It allows Un-muffled exhaust to flow into the muffled exhaust. It is a welded piece of pipe that forms an H-pipe right bfore the muffler. Some exhaust will go through the muffler, some will not, either way, they combine creating a rich Borla like tone for $2.99 plus weld. I think it is worth it, I was just wondering how big of a difference it makes.

Re: Anyone do the Exhaust Mod?
you can build a cutout if you can weld
I am not sure how much of a difference it makes.
I am going to be doing that soon, but a little different..
USE a Qtec cutout between the 2 pipes, so closed, works like stock, open, its a cutout (through the tailpipe)

Re: Anyone do the Exhaust Mod?
I did that to my Flowmaster and it sounds real good!!!....I get alot of compliments on my exhaust and after I found out that Flowmaster doesn't flow real well......I added a cut-out in the I-pipe for better flow....not having to sacrifice a whole lot of money for a better flowing exhaust.......the cutout made the exhaust sound much throatier and louder but now I want louder so I'll probably be getting rid of the Dynomax High Flow Cats........

You must be talking about the mod that's listed on LS1.com . Doesn't look like it's worth anything to me, I say start saving your cash now, then when you turn 18 mod the crap out of it. What's two years anyway, have fun with the car now, mod later.

Re: Anyone do the Exhaust Mod?
Well whop ever did that mod was a dumbass. The pipe was like 1 inch diameter at the most, I'm thinking or going 2-2.5 inches. I have been told to block off the right muffler exit, and replace it with a pipe to the unmuffled exhaust.

Re: Anyone do the Exhaust Mod?
I pay all $3,200 a year on insurance. I is real hard to earn $60 a week, pay for gas, and still have money to save for mods. At this point in time I go 0-60 in 5.3 seconds according to my pocket dyno. I have been waiting to get this car for the past 4-5 years, and belive me, I will not take a lost to a non american car. EVER!!!!! That is my promise to every Camaro, Trans Am, and Corvette owner. I will not lose!

Re: Anyone do the Exhaust Mod?
I don't race if I know I will lose. Also, I rarely ever street race, it is not the safest thng to do on many levels. I only race at the track, where it is legal, and where the ricers are scared to go to get their asses whooped. SO there you have it, I have not lost on any encounter, no will I because I only race the ricers who taunt me, those are usually in a civic or integra so I am safe. I have beaten a turbo civic, turbo integra, and turbo eclipse. However, let's get back to the exhaust mod, thank you. I will be doin it this Saturday and want to know what size pipe I should use.

Im helping a friend put borla on his car today and his stock WS6 exhuast is comming off. It has a cut out in the y-pipe and he might let the cat back and cut out go for around 20 dollars.
