Sweet thunders chambered vs Borla XR-1 PLEASE HELP!
So what do you guys think? I have done a lot of research and basically narrowed it down to these two mufflers. I like the the thought of "straight through" chambers but heard good things about Borla. Are the Borlas worth the price? Im having a custom TD over axle system (car has LTs) put in this summer (routed through a CME too!) and cant decide between the two. "Loudness" is not really a factor, its not DD. Just want great sound...oh and no cats w/ stock internals.. *I have spent the last few days of my life on LS1sounds too. Thanks in advance

why not include powerstick?? I was gonna go with sweet thunder until I saw the inside of the muffler.
this screams bad flow to me
not sure which size duals you are going with but I went w/ 3" and IMO thats the only way to do it. Powersticks have true 3" flowpath so you won't be hurting performance
looks to flow way better than sweet thunders
and here's a vid of powersticks on a stock motor
97 WS6, Pacesetter Longtubes, Custom True Duals w/ Powersticks chambered mufflers

I had Sweet Thunders and loved them...nothing says in your face like those mufflers. Made my cam sound absolutely sick and the sound was about as race car as you could want. They are also extremely loud...so much so that I just swapped back to a brand new ORY and SLP Dual/Dual setup. Talk about shock....from one extreme to the other. Sweet Thunders are great, but I had my fill of them (as did my hearing).
Borla XR1's will have a more refined note to them. I like them alot as well. I considered swapping to those, but it was time to seriously drop the decibel level. If you want raw, in your face sound go with the SW's. If you want refined and not so loud (but still loud), Borla is the better choice.

Here's a video
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/4...ef9e3550ac.htm
My car is the blue (looks black) car in the video. At the time my setup was a slipping spec 3+ clutch (you can hear it ) G5X3 112 cam, lid, tune and the exhaust setup in my sig (was dumped instead of under the axle in the video)
Good luck man
