Default How do I clean the MAF ?

My mechanic told me today that my MAF needs cleaned. He said that when running 40 mph that it is only getting 7 lbs of air flow and that it should be around 23.

How/what do you do to clean it ?

Be careful not to hold the can too close to the sensor wires, they are pretty easy to damage if you are not careful.

Nice! Just make sure everything is nice and dry before you crank it up.

Don't use TB, Carb, or brake cleaner on your MAF sensor. Too Harsh!

CRC MAF sensor cleaner is the only way to go. Gently spray the wires inside and let air dry. They gradually get dirty and performance and mileage drops off, so I do mine with every oil change

how does vehicle speed determine air flow? its engine load and rpm.
