The best rpm range is the range that you want to shift at (which is personal preferance) It all depends....is your primary use going to be at the track? or is it more for street use and cosmetics? Im guessing its track use so the later the better but like i just said- its all up to you.

for a stock cam, I wood look at the GM Specs for the horsepower rating ware it says 305 hp @ XXXX rpm, and then set the light to that because by the time you actually shift it, youll be 300 rpm's higher...

Where did you install it? How about some pics?

Mine should be on the way from MPH Motorsports, Im thinking about installing it in the vent and the left side out of sight.

Attached is my placement of the Raptor in the center vent location. The second attachment is a little blury. I took it during startup so that is only half the LEDs illuminating due to its test procedure. It is a lot brighter than that during normal operation.

I set the light for 5,500 rpm on my setup. This will give me time to shift prior to hitting the 6,200 rev limiter. Looking at my dyno sheet HP starts a slow decline around 5,000 but TQ is still climbing.

Don't be shocked when you notice there is a 300 rpm or so difference between the shift light and the tach. The tach is ok for gradual acceleration but during WOT it is slow.

Set it to whatever makes you go fastest. Everyone, their reaction times, and mods are different. Mine is at 6200 I believe.

I have mine in that same spot, and have it set to 3500rpms to remind me not to waste gas while daily driving it lol. It takes just a minute to change so test out what you feel is best for you and ur car.

I installed mine in the spot for the fog lights.

Set if for just under where you want to shift. if you have the stock rev limiter in set it for 5700 or 5800 depends on how fast you shift. I have mine set @ 6500 and want to shift by 6800.

mine is set at 6500, and my limiter comes on at 6700. i have no problem shifting as soon as it comes on, without touching the limiter.

Set it for 5800 - 5900 RPMs on a stock limiter. I had mine set there with no problems. Now it's set at 6400 to shift around 6600.

^^ Hell no only 3 wires. I have mine in the a/c vent like the pics above. I did a small write-up on it, i'll find it.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...104&highlight=

I know the pics are a bit crappy (cell phone) but, you kinda get the point. If any clear pics are needed, i can get some of better quality

Here is another write-up in the install university site, go to install docs, then go down to Transmission, look for Harlan shift light install.
