Default hooker vs pacesetter

I'm having trouble picking between hooker super comps or the pacesetter long tubes coated 1 3/4 primaries...this is for an ls1 ta...the hookers are way more expensive than the pacesetter. as far as tube design...Do the hookers provide more suction for fresh air? how much better , if any are the hookers.

my car has a 3400 fuddle stall, comp 228- .577 lift cam and a 150 shot of Nx

I'd just do the Pacesetters. The Super Comps are nice, but I wouldn't pay more for them.

I just have the regular hookers and they were priced right with the pacesetter's. The super comps are tuned length, so they want more for them. I don't regret getting the hookers over the pacsetter's. My buddy has pacesetter and they looked just as nice as mine or vice versa. Either one is a good choice.

Good point Shawn. Also, since you mention it I do remember having to grind some to get my buddy's pacesetter's to fit without rubbing. I also heard good things about the AR header's but don't know if it's worth the money to change over.

Just get the regular Hookers. I got mine for like $380 shipped from a sponsor on here. They're very nice...fit perfectly. I think the Hookers are also coated on the inside and the PaceSetters are not.

Out of those two, I personally would go with the Pacesetter.

Mine are the painted ones. Wishing now I would have gotten the coated for looks, but after two years they're still black with minimal rust. I'm actually surprised.

what i really talking about are the suction effect of the pipe design...i was looking at the sticky on this and the piston only pulls in like 30 % of the fresh air...the header tube does the rest... So tube design really matters...especially on a high power motor...

whos tube design is better for this...???

You must be talking about scavenging. Most of your top end headers will be tuned length (meaning all primaries are the same length) which will give you a much better scavenging effect. Your basic bang for the buck header's ie hooker, pacesetter, flowtech etc are still good for flow, but you won't benefit as much as you would from a one of your highend header's ie kooks, dynatech, qtp, etc. In this case, you do get what you pay for, but you can't go wrong with either choice. Hope this helps some.

we sell and install them both and to be honest we like the hookers better. they seem to fit a little better and include true o2 extensions not just wire like the pacesetters.

Ordered my hookers W/ true o2 extensions from speedtweekerz. Great sponsor! Hookers are a great header, I would highly recommend them.

Pacesetters are great, even with their not-so-great y-pipe, my car picked up 6-7 tenths at the track with them. If you get them, get the TSP Y.

I've got Pacesetters and no complaints here. The y-pipe does kind of suck, though.
