Default Short Belt Question - Pro's vs Con's

I'm thinking about doing the short belt mod....
A. What is the proper belt for this mod?
B. anybody got a routing picture or diagram?
C. What gains will I see?
D. Will it cause any problems with my steering components?

This will be on my daily driver.
I already know I want a stiffer steering....I dont
like "LOOSE" steering.

sorry I posted this in the wrong area the first time

Search the drag forum for proper belt length.

No power steering with a manual steering rack is one thing, no power steering on a power steering rack is different. It will be harder to turn the a vehicle that came with manual steering...

No, the existing steering stuff will be fine. Just don't do like I did, I removed the pump assembly before trying the short belt. Without the power steering, it looks much cleaner and frees up some room and removes weight.

I'm not too worried about weight unless its about 50-100 lbs.

So how hard is it to steer anyways??

Thats depends on the person, the wheels & tires, car weight, etc. You will not like this at all without some arm muscle, a light front end, and skinnies. I'm not a strong person, but I have about 100 pounds off the front end or more, and Convo Pro skinnies, and it was still to difficult for me. With the manual rack, it is like having power steering again with the stock wheels.
