Default Serpentine belt flying off...

I've been having a problem with my belt flying off lately. It seems to only happen when I'm braking above 100 mph, like after a race (street racing is bad) . I've done a search, but can't find much on this subject. Is it the tensioner? Has anyone else had this problem, if so how was it fixed?

You might to give the Larry pulley from ASP a try.

Do you have an aftermarket pulley? If so, is it seated fully?

Pimpmaro, no aftermarket pulley, I haven't even messed with them yet. Where can I get a Larry pulley, dark age?

check and make sure none of your idlier pully's are loose. I thought the Larry pulley would fix mine, but come to fine out one of the pully's down by the drivers side bottom of motor was about to fall off since the bolt was backing out!

make sure its the right size belt on yoru car also. Sometimes the wrong one gets put on there for some reason. If you have alotta miles on the car then maybe it the belt that needs to be replaced. Just wiggle the tensior to see how much plays in it. Should be some but not alot

If all else fails then it is probably your stock upper tensioner. Order one of the Katech tensioners and you should be fine.

I had the same symptoms and the billet tensioner fixed the problem.

ditto.

I had the same problem, and it worked for me. It has higher ridges than the stock tensioner pulley.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll look to make sure all my pulleys aren't loose. I also thought it was the stock belt, but this is my 3rd belt in about 6 months.
