ORY or keep the factory cats with Corsa?
I have a corsa catback on my 2002 ss........I do not want to put headers on the car. I just want to get a little better sound, and I figured the stock cats and y pipe was a little restrictive. How much power gain can be expected from ditching the cats? Also, will the Corsa sound better with or without cats? I do not want a raspy sound at all. I really like the way the car sounds now, just hope to get a little better sound at an idle.

minimal power to be gained from removing the cats...3-5hp at most.
i'd be willing to bet the sound at idle will be better, but WOT will be raspy.
you could always throw a 24" bullet muffler just behind the Ypipe to cut down rasp.
biggest problem with orp is the clearance. i had a helll of a time with my bassani...and i noticed no gain in power.
headers or don't bother with the cats/ypipe

Sorry, but being quite at idle and light load is one of the main features of the Corsa cat-back. Having said that I liked the sound of my Corsa the best before the cam but after the headers and catted Y.
