Default Bolt on question about HP.

I have a 2002 WS6 M6 just put on Hooker 1 7/8 ceramic coated headers, Pacesetter ORY, 3 Inch Borla Exhaust, also did the throttle body bypass. I was just wondering if anyone has also done this and can tell me about how much power can i expect to the wheels. Thanks.

1) Search this is covered frequently (not verbatim, but damn near it...)
2) Since I'm already posting this I'd guess anywhere from 340-350 or so RWHP.

1. Yes. He is right.
2. That seems high. All he did was headers, ORY, and catback. I would say 330rwhp max. Sorry to tell ya but the TB bypass doesn't really add anything. Definitely a good mod due to the cheap price. Hot throttle body is never a great thing either. Any way you can cut down on the IAT is a good thing.

It all depends on how much your car was making stock. My car made 290 rwhp stock, and put down 332 w/ similar mods. Had kooks LTs, TDs under the axle. Also, your list doesn't mention a lid???? I would highly recommend you pick one up. Should be the first mod you do.

they say a lid gets you about 5-10 hp. its pretty much the same as a cold air intake for our cars. the inside is all smoothed out, allowing more air to flow directly into your tb, as opposed to the stock lid which has all kinds of grooves and edges. pull yours off and take a look, youll see what im talkin about. as for what kind, theyre pretty much all the same. i have an ls1 whisper lid myself, but there's also slp, granatelli, mti, and more. oh, and get your tb ported and polished, makes a big difference too.

porting the throttle body will add MAYBE 2-3 hp but more importantly, it increases throttle response and is a great supporting mod meaning small hp gain by itself but with the headers and lid and exhaust its well worth it.

as far as the tune, you wont need one for just the throttle body port. I would strongly recommend getting one after you put the exhaust and lid, etc. on. car will run much smoother since you will most likely be running rich from the new exhaust setup.

330-350rwhp. 02 cars show the best gains from mods & stock rwhp output.
