Re: 3
Anyone running cutouts slipped over the header collectors on SLP LT's? I want to remove the cats and replace them with cutouts linking the headers and Y-pipe. Some trimming to the Y may be necessary, but what I want to know is if anyone has done this?
The reason I want the cutouts in the described location is that I have a 2 1/2" I-pipe (the stock SS one), and I'd like to avoid having the exhaust merged into the smaller diameter pipe in the case of putting a single cutout at the usual location.

I would say just get the single cut out in the usual spot on the I pipe, either that or get a 3 inch to 2 and 1/2 inch I pipe made for you when you have the cut out installed. But that's my .02 worth.

Re: 3
clearance would be a PITA with cutouts right there. You would either have to angle them up towards the floorboard(not good), or angle them towards the road hitting everything you go over(not good).
You made the right choice

Re: 3
Clearance is already a PITA with the SLP's. The cats hit everything. But yeah, I guess it was the rational decision. Moot point, but can't you angle them out sidways? Like cheapo sidepipes projecting from the Y?
