Default How does rasp sound?

I have heard the term rasp and am a little confused as to how it

Yep, thats rasp. I have it I think. I haven't driven my car in over two months. Still need help with new clutch and tranny. A bullet along your I-pipe will silence that by the way.

Depending on your exhaust setup you will usually hear it between 2000-3000 rpms under a load.

TD's are about the only solution if your running headers...

almost any catback with headers and a y-Pipe will cause rasp

this is my car with 3" dynomax bullets and 3" dynomax x pipe with mac mids
no rasp at any RPM and sounds amazing

It's one of the things that separates us from ricers. I guess I'm one of the few people fond of it.

A decent Y pipe actually helps quite a bit, but the rasp will still be there. Rasp is caused by the exhaust gasses colliding with each other at the Y merge. The pacesetter one is the worst. A flowmaster true Y merge with some custom tubing should take care of most of that. That's gonna be my plan.
