Default Header Install...What Do I Need?

Alright, so i'm getting ready to order what I need for my LT (race style) install when I get home. Just a couple questions on what I should buy. Should I replace the 02 sensors while I am installing the headers, if so AcDelco or Bosch 13111 or just extensions? Also going to get the Magnecor wires, NGK plugs, and egr delete plug for manifold. Is there anything else that I will need? Thanks for any help or suggestions....

depending on who you buy from you may want to order some gaskets for the manifolds so you know its going to seal. also a little hand is also something great to have haha

Get some GM exhaust manifold gaskets don't use the paper one's you my get with the headers. Also remove the air pump and air lines too. Your engine bay will look alot cleaner without the egr and air tube's going every where. If your o2's are working fine i would re use them, put a little hi temp anti seze on the o2 threads in case you do have to replace in the near future. good luck.

and use some RTV sealant on the exhaust gaskets to seal'em. I just reused my stock gaskets by the way.

I would go with the Bosch sensors. They work the best.

Replace your o2 sensors only if you need to. Go with gm exhaust manifold gaskets.

Alright thanks for the advice. Did everyone just use the stock bolts or would you recommend the 8 stage locking bolts?

depending on which LT's u order, some come with new header bolts. thats ur call but cheap insurace never hurts. and if ur gonna do heads down the line use alittle anti seize on them, and don't over torque them either

I had the same question, here is what I found:

The only thing that im not 100% happy with is the y-pipe. Im now spending extra to get a custom y-pipe with a flowmaster merge made, the rasp is bad with the ORY I got.
Id suggest getting a custom y made.

Get O2 extensions, when your O2's go bad get original replacements. The 13111 vette sensors run colder than the f-body which is opposite why people use them, and bosch are garbage for use with headers because they use a small tip with 3 vanes, original has 8 vanes, they conduct exhaust temp better.
