Headers, ORY, and stock catback?
I tried searching but didnt see much. Im wondering how quiet an LS1 TA would be with headers, off road y, and stock cat back? I was thinking of doing this and using an electric cut out when i wanna be loud. But how does it sound through the stock cat back? I just wanna be able to be quiet when i want to be.
Thanks

I have MAC mid-length headers and ORY with the stock catback. It is not very loud at part throttle. It does get louder at WOT. It sounds fine at WOT or under 2000rpm, but rather undesirable otherwise.

i think it would be pretty quiet because i have longtubes and ory with a magnaflow catback and its still not very loud..and the stock catback should be even quieter than the magnaflow

The ORY is going to be thekink in the setup. Cats quiet the setup more than you think.
And once you put on a cutout it will be pretty raspy (don't know if you like it like that or not).
IMO... keep the catback you have, get LTs and a catted Y. It will be a lot louder (cutout open) and quiter (cutout closed).
The only concern would be the type of sound from the cutout (behind the cats)... It may not be to your liking (a lot of it is taste). I loved it when I had this setup... I wish I hadn't messed around with it.
Good Luck!

LT's ORY + Stock TA catback

Here is a cold start with the cutout open. The sound quality isnt the greatest because of how loud it is.

Same as above just warm start with revs. 4K being the highest.

because i am just a slow cam only car...
i am getting full flow out the cutout, which frees up more hp than any catback out there today...
so my electric cutout has the best of both worlds, makes the most power than a catback, and is cheaper (under $200)...
one way i might go is throw a bullet on and drop the weight of the catback...but there goes the quiet...might as well just put extentions off the headers then...
