Default Best quality and performing headers

For a '02 A4 SS stock heads & cam car with most all bolt-ons and 3.23's w/a 3200 Vig. Presently running stock manifolds w/gutted stock cats, LG Motorsports 2&3/4" Y, SLP Dual-Dual, 3" Flo-tech cutout in int. pipe....What longtubes will show me a nice HP gain, and still let me change back from off-road pipes to emission-passing Y w/cats that'll pass emissions? I want to keep the Dual-Dual. Opinions? Thanks. WJ.

The only interchangable pipes I've seen are the FLP ones. Better cough up some coin for them though.

Can't go wrong with Kooks - however they don't have the interchangeable cat/pipe part that you are looking for.

Does Hooker make the setup I'm looking for, or Jet-Hot? Thanks. WJ.

No, like I said before, the only company that makes interchangable race pipes is FLP. Depending on what you have done to your car, good cats will barely take any power away anyway. If you have to pass emissions just bolt a set of Carsound cats on and call it good.

I am very happy with my FLP's BUT, it is a bitch to get your oil filter out with them and the drain plug backs into the header when you loosen it. The guys at the local quik lube will run when you pull in.

Hate to sound like a broken record but FLP has the interchangable where you can take the cats off or put them on when needed.I have the Hooker LT's which make great power but ive heard nothing but good feedback on FLP's.Only down side is they are like $1200 for the set.

Yah, If you want to be interchangable you're stuck with FLP. If I had to pass emissions, I would just run good cats. BTW, I Really like my Thunder Racing headers.

Check in the sponsor section for the new y-pipe from Jet-Hot. It will work with the hooker or jet-hot headers, and I believe you can swap back and forth between cats and ory. However, the cats with this pipe are NOT what your smog guy is used to seeing. the are of very small diameter and fit inside a small bulge in the y-pipe. I think someone posted pics about a week ago. Title of thread was "Jet Hot Y not what I expected," or something like that in the External section.

Yes, I did see pics of these miniscule cats in a post a couple of days ago.....Do they actually pass a sniff test? I've seen bigger cats on a Honda powered pressure washer! I like their looks, though.... I'll check out the Jet-hot Y. Thanks. WJ.

O.K. Dan. FLP's it is....Driving myself crazy is an old habit of mine, plus it's fun getting everyone's $.02 worth....People are saying that changing the Jet-Hot's back & forth from cats to race pipes is no fun.....Should've flanged them, no? Best wishes. WJ. :p
