What is a good cat for a GMMG with LPP long tube headers??
Here is the deal. I have a stock 94' trans am, but I am going to be getting LPP lts and a GMMG chambered exhaust put on real soon. I heard the GMMG doesn't sound too good without cats so I am in the market for one. Which one would be good for this setup and how much should I plan to spend? I don't want rasp, crackling/popping sounds, but I still want it to be pretty loud. PLEASE help a fellow f-body owner out.

as someone above me already said magnaflow makes some nice small cats for our cars....dont buy them just yet...put the exhaust on and see if you like the sound first...my buddy bought into the GMMG without cats doesnt sound good so he bought a catted y pipe...he didnt like the sound so i let him borrow my y pipe and in turn loved the sound...its a little louder and has some rasp to it....imo rasp isnt the end of the world....in any event what is the worst thing that could happen? you have to buy cats lol...
hope this helps..

Go on Magnaflow's website and see if there's a Carsound cat that'll fit your application. They have more sound deadening effect than the higher flow metallic spun cats.
If you're using just one cat, you'll need to make sure that it flows enough. You may want to go to a 96+ set-up using two cats.
