Default Poor Mans Exhaust!!!

I took my Magnaflow exhaust to get taken off by my exhaust guy. The owner before me had the exhaust welded and clamped. I couldn't get it off myself after trying and trying. lol

After he took off the catback, I asked him if he wanted to weld that 3" turn down he had just laying on the floor to the Y-pipe. He said, "Sure!"

All in all it cost me $20 for him to take off the exhaust and weld a turn down on to the Y-pipe.

This thing sounds sick as hell now and isn't really that loud. Don't even waste your time with a loudmouth exhaust, just get a turn down on your Y-pipe.

I will post some sound clips of it tomorrow!

I'm like 100% sure he still has his cats. and he does, I can see it not being unreasonably loud. but if no cats, then no way in hell. I did something similar to this when I got my first trans am in 2001. I was 17 and didn't know better. I did the true duals dumped before the axle with no cats and no mufflers. the exhaust guy was like, are u sure u wanna do this. haha. it was fackin loud as hell. I didn't dare get on it at all. I was scared to. took it back the next day and put bullets on it.

But yea without the cats it would be hell to drive.

Sounds really damn good lol

Only temporary until the long tubes get here. Then I'm doing 3" true duals with an X-pipe and bullet mufflers.

That is the exact setup I had before this. Sold it to ^MrElectric to fund the true duals.

Isnt there a law that says that exhaust has to exit past the rear bumper on passenger cars? Not that i care, I have a very similar setup, but I was just curious..Other than that, I bet it sounds good and he did lose a few lbs, getting rid of the muff and extra pipe...good idea!

before i had my gmmg, my car had a shitty resonator and a turn down. it sounded badass and like you said wasn't too loud. i miss it but the gmmg sounds a lot cleaner to me.

wish somebody would just build a damn exahust for our cars that are a block hugger style ceramic headers with room for #8 plug to be changed, and either an X pipe or a Y-pipe that tucked UP instead of hanging down * STUPID SLP ORY *so that when we ditch the 4x4 look we dont beat the hell outta our exhaust going over anything...

and nice touch..i havent seen that before and you need to post a vid clip asap!!

This will probably only be like this for a week.

**UPDATE**

This setup makes everything in the interior rattle. Didn't do this the first day. lol

I guess if you leave it in gear. Pretty much ever exhaust will though.

lol that's probably loud as hell, I was running stock cats and y-pipe with nothing after for a little while last fall. It was enough to scare people, but not as obnoxious as some heads/cam/longtubes/no cats cars.
