Header Install Question...please
Ok guys, i am going to install my LT headers my self. How high did you guys have to get the car off of the ground to have enough clearance for everything. The highest I can go is with the ramps, I think. Will the be enough?????? The car is an 01SS and they are jet hots. If all that matters.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I think you will need higher. I got some jack stands from sears that where the high lift ones and I still barely had enough room to manuever the passenger side header in. Ramps I'm sure would be way too low.

I haven't installed a set of Jet-Hots, but you will likely have to get the driver side up so that the header can go
almost straight up.

2 buddies and I installed my SLP longtubes on Rhino ramps and jack stands. Word of very important advice. Get the car up as high as you can. Make sure you have plenty of tools and beer or something of that nature. Band aids..the number for 911. Header install's aren't pretty. Oh and make sure you have a buddy or two to help. Good luck!

A few little thing will prob have u thinking but it isnt that much. Just make a weekend of it, or start sat morning and have sun free just in caes. But you should be done and raising hell be sat evening. Good Luck

Re: Header Install Question...please
I have my car lifted right now and just put both headers in.
I have the front on sears 3 1/2 ton jack stands. That is 3 1/2 tons each. 7 clicks up. The back wheels are sitting on my rhino ramps with a 3 4X4's under the ramps to raise them up.
Basically the front tires need to be about 10 inches off the ground. In order to do this you will need to list the rear tires too.
My jack is a 21 1/2" high lift jack. I needed to put a block of wood under the pad to get the lift this high.
