Default Cold air Kits

Tried a search for Volant cold air kits, had no luck. Anyone who's had one, do they fit well, and how much gain in rwhp and tq? Thanks

bout the same as a lid.

they really aren't a cold air kit....for that you need something like the SSRA or FTRA.

i say stick with a lid and a SSRA....cold air at slow speeds and true ram air at high speed

I have the Volant CAI and love it- I had had for almost 2 years. I am not sure on the exact gain of the Volant alone because I didn't get the car dynoed afterwards, but I would say by feel alone maybe 12hp. However, hearing from other people that have gotten this intake, it really is only worth it if you have a WS6. The design of the Volant T/A works great w/a WS6 because the cones line up perfectly to the hood scoops. Debaffling the hood scoops only works better too... then you have air blowing directly at the cones. The rubber lining around the air box seals tightly under the hood- preventing air from dissipating and random debris to blow into your engine bay. Also.... whenever I pop the hood, it always gets a positive response. If you have a WS6- be different and get the Volant.

I have an MTI lid and smooth bellows. The reason I'm looking for a CAK is because the lid fits like crap, and is already cracked. I've already tried trimming the tabs so it would fit better, no such luck. I think the main problem is the bellows, they are too stiff to allow the lid to fit. I'm afraid of stuff getting in past the filter. what is ssra, and ftra? A brand, or a sort of cold air kit?

I love my Volant for all the reasons Drake02 mentioned above. However, like he also mentioned, I have a WS6 w/o baffles, so it works great for me. I would suggest you stick w/ a lid & one of the other above mentioned kits.

We'd recommend the FTRA along with our 85mm air lid. That will give you he best flow possible

If you buy them at the same time, there is also a discount on the package.

The guys with the WS6s speak of the ram air and thats why they like them so much, so what if someone had a z28 with a ultra z hood and the volant intake, wouldnt that be the same principal?
