Default need cam help

i am putting a comp cam 224/230 .591 lift 112 lsa cam in my car. can i run stock ls1 timing chain? if not where can i fing single roller ls2 timing chain i cant find them anywhere

It is very cheap insurance to upgrade, at least to the LS2 chain which can be had for under $40. Check out Scoggin Dickey to the right 1-800-456-0211.They always have great prices and seem to keep good stock. The only difference between the install is...if you keep your stock chain, which many people have done, you can skip the step of removing your oil pump. But its really not that bad. The biggest bitch about that step is religning the pump on the gear while sliding the pick up tube in without pinching the o-ring. My advice...at least put an LS2 chain on. Its a single chain, but if you look at them side by side, its definitely a lot thicker and stronger than the LS1 chain. In fact, I dont even think you can buy the LS1 chain anymore, as the LS2 chain has taken its place.

We stock the LS2 chain & ported oil pumps for camshaft installs. Both of these items are inexpensive add ons that provide peace of mind!!
