Default swap TR224 to G5X-2?

After seeing all the hp numbers that are comming out of the G5X-2 cam, I'm kind of wishing I had that in my car.

If I'm at 400rwhp now with my TR224, what would I "possibly" get to with the G5X-2?

I KNOW I will need to flycut the pistons so where do I order/rent the flycut tool (with the head) and how much is it?

If you are considering the change you may want to wait a bit. LG is coming out with the newest G5x's which G5X2 owners might want to jump on and therefore sell their cams.

are you running stock heads? I dont think you will need to flycut the pistons with the G5X2 on stock heads.

G5X2-
G5X-2 Specs are 232/240 .590/.609 112LSA

its a BIG difference from a 224/

nope...the heads are milled 0.020" with a 2.08/1.60 valve setup.....they will be killer if/when I do a big bore setup but till then they are really kicking me in the *****....

why so much exhaust durration? I thought the intake manifold was the restriction on our cars (if you have LT headers)....

I would think that the extra duration would affect the overlap properties of the exhaust closing and intake opening. The high duration probably would help pull more intake air into combustion chaber, thus like you said make up for the intake manifold restriction . I am sadly no expert though, only my .02

I say its worth a try, just be careful of p/v clearance like you said. The tool for flycutting can be rented from Isky, there was a thread awhile back kinda giving instructions on how to do this so you may be able to find it?
