TPIS 11X Cam - Pro Dyno Tech
I have heard nothing but good about Pro Dyno Tech. They are offering a cam / head package. http://prodynotech.com/id18.html Here is the cam specs:
Advertised Duration 273 277
Duration at .050 220 224
Gross Lift .557 .578
Lobe Separation 112
Pro Dyno Tech has nothing but good to say about this 11X cam, even when asked about how it compares with others. Their site claims it is the "biggest" cam you can get without having to cut the pistons.
So, my question to you guru's - should I go with this 11X cam they offer, or get something like the Trex?
I have: Ported 243 heads w/ yellow springs, LS6 intake, Kooks 1 3/4 headers, green top 42 lb/hr injectors, Yella Terra roller rockers, ported stock TB, etc

Seems to me, this ZL-15 cam is a better fit for me...unless it makes piston to valve contact on stock pistons. Anyone know?

The TPIS cam you showed in your first post is pretty small to be honest with you. It is far from the biggest you can go without flycutting your pistons. The second cam shown is a pretty healthy cam, but I don't like the lack of lift on the exhaust side.

1. Were the heads milled and are there aftermarket valves in them?
2. What head gaskets?
3. What rocker ratio?
If you answer, milled, .040, and 1.8s I can see that cam giving you "tight" PTV issues. I'm guessing that cam profile is on a 110+4. Ron over at Pro Dyno Tech is a smart guy, hell of a tuner also, I can't see him steering you wrong, if he sees what I do in your sig. I once installed a Crane 220/224 114 w/1.8s(.583 overall lift), with box stk stg 2 PP heads and stk gasket and had .074+ intake ptv. So the whole deal together really plays a BIG roll if you know what I mean.

I know the people at Pro Dyno Tech personally, and I know how closely they work with TPIS in figuring things out.. Also- I dont know how many of you know this but TPIS does alot of their work to make their products make the most performance under " EMISSION LEGAL" standards..

remember reading this last year...
and i still laugh.
220/224 .557/.578" ......
man...i wonder how on earth i'm running a 233/233 with .589" lift on my stock motor.
TPIS use to do some really good things with the TPI motors, havn't been too impressed with their lsx stuff.
as for them doing it within emissions....well they should say that. not say its the biggest cam you can do.
