Cool My lil LS1

Hello! my LS1 A4 just reached 71K and i am wondering what are a few things that i could do to make her run healthy! I already changed the transmission fluid and filter, Going to clean the differential stuff...what else could i do?

Also, what are some of the cheaper/lighter mods i could do to her without really hurting her? =) I love my LS1

Would do the fuel filter if you haven't already. Also, drain the radiator and fill will new coolant mix.

What mods do you have so far? Most people would say a lid and catback first.

You can do all the bolt-ons which wont affect the longevity at all
in case you don't know lid, throttle body, intake manifold, headers. You could throw in a cam it won't hurt the motor but it could hurt the tranny and rear end. You could get a cam with a small stall so as not to affect driveability.

what year is your ta? if 00 an below you could do a ls6 manifold, headers + catback, throttle body, and a lid which would really wake up the ls1. dont forget to get it tuned.

Just fyi if you can only get a ls6 manifold or a cam-even a small cam, get the cam you will have more power under the curve. my manifold only netted me 6rwhp and that was up at the top of the power band. manifold 350, comp cam 300 give or take and look at making at least 20 rwhp.

Some simple bolt ons as others have said(headers/exhaust, LS6 intake, blah blah) will wake the car up a good bit and maintain stock reliability. Change the plugs if you haven't lol.

first off, welcome! and you are in the right place for tech advise, this place made me broke in less than two years!!!!

as far as maintenence you are good so far, keeping up with the fuel filter, oil and trans fluid is the first step.

one thing since your car is an A4, the BEST mod you can do is a stall converter. its a little more expensive if you do it right, but you will thank me time and time again for it. it wakes up the car and then some...
